This year the musical light-up restrooms went another direction for the Service Sanitation holiday message
Every year around this time we can look forward to spending time with family and friends, great food and holiday festivities — and an ambitious portable restroom light show set to music, courtesy of Indiana-based Service Sanitation.
This year the number of restrooms used was cut down to eight, but the concept went mobile. The restrooms were mounted on a transport trailer in order to spread the joy all over the Midwest with live shows. Computers were retrofitted inside to create the faces and “personalities” of the Jingle Johns.
This “Lighted Loo” experience traveled to nearby Chicago and showed support for the city’s World Series champion Cubs this year, singing “Go Cubs Go” along with four other holiday tunes.
Check out the video and message from Service Sanitation below, along with a “behind the scenes” video of how this year’s concept came about.
"Holiday traditions ... Every family has them, and our Service Sanitation family is no different. When sending out a stale holiday card to our customer base year after year had lost its luster, we took the one thing we know best — portable restrooms — and lit them up to celebrate Christmas. Well, we did more than that. We also gave these porta potties faces and made them sing Christmas carols. Whether it be the eye-catching light sequences or the snappy lyrical renditions of your favorite Christmas songs, this tradition of spreading good cheer is one that won’t disappoint."
