More than 130 notable artists took the stage earlier this month at the 46-acre Zilker Park for the 13th annual Austin (Texas) City Limits Music Festival. The two-weekend festival is known for all-star lineups, tasty food and musical goodness. And now, the fest can add portable restrooms to the list.

While musical ear candy is the heart of this festival, debuting at this year’s show was a Golden Porta-Potty contest. According to Austin’s TWC News, ACL Fest hosts glammed up the portable restroom situation for a few special music fans.

The king-of-the-throne type contest gave three lucky festgoers access to the “Taj Mahal of bathrooms” at the fest. Plus, each winner got to bring nine of his or her friends to use the glowing toilet.

The Golden Porta-Potty is literally gold, with a shimmery wrap, and it’s even decked out with golden lion statues, air conditioning and toiletries for those bathroom breaks that call for a little freshening up. It even has a red carpet!

Of course, outfitting your construction site restrooms with costly A/C units or gold-plated toilet seats isn’t budget friendly (or necessary), but what about adding something extra — unique colors or fancy air fresheners — to your special event jobs? Special event planners will be more interested in renting from you over your competitor that only offers run-of-the-mill options, and I bet collaborating with an event to do a contest like the Golden Porta-Potty would get eventgoers talking about your company. Word-of-mouth advertising still reigns supreme!
