After a long, hard day of cleaning filthy restrooms, this blog post from a special event user might restore your faith that some people appreciate your hard work: http://runnersfeed.com/treat-portable-toilets-like-your-home-toilet/

This runner, named Brandon, understands the challenge of keeping restrooms clean, and wants to help the race organizers who make them available:

“Race Directors pay good money (upwards of $200 per portable toilet) for these amenities. Unfortunately, there are a few runners out there that ruin this luxury for the rest of us,’’ Brandon writes. “If we all treat the portable toilets as if we had to clean them at the end of the day, we can all enjoy a pre-race pit stop.”

Is Brandon indicative of runners you’ve served in the past? In your experience, are runners more concerned with cleanliness than other special event restroom users? What stories can you share about serving large-scale running events?

I’d like to hear from you. Drop me a line at editor@promonthly.com, or respond directly to this blog post below.
