Mobile Restroom Suites of North Lima, Ohio, made headlines last week for providing restroom trailer service for a visit by President Obama to a Youngstown, Ohio, company. According to the newspaper, The Vindicator, the White House contracted with the company Portable Restroom Trailers, to provide an upscale restroom trailer for Obama’s group to use while visiting V & M Star to give an address on the economy.

According to the Web site for Mobile Restroom Suites and Portable Restroom Trailers, the company lists Comfort Elite trailers from Wells Cargo C.O.G. and Porta-Lisa trailers from Jag Mobile Solutions in its fleet. The newspaper account said the dignitaries used an 8-by-12-foot trailer with granite-look countertops, stainless steel sinks and full vanity mirrors. The story noted that the company had also provided restroom facilities for actor Denzel Washington at a movie location in Ohio.

Reader follow-up comments were mixed on the newsworthiness of the story. But a few expressed surprise at how nice restroom trailer service is:

“I actually used one of these at an outdoor wedding last year and they are quite impressive. Very clean and no smell,’’ one reader wrote at the Web site, www.vindy.com. “But, not a noteworthy news story.’’
