Can blogging at your portable sanitation company’s Web site provide a marketing boost? The folks at Nix Tank Company certainly think so. This month, the Atlanta-area company – 40 years in the industry – started posting a thread of blogs at its redesigned Web site. You can check out the blog list here: www.nixtank.com/blog/.
I contacted Nix’s Matt Dubnik and asked him what the company wants to accomplish with the sharp new Web site and the blogs. Nix determined that its tired, old Web site was eroding the customer base, as more and more consumers turn to the Internet for information about service companies.
“We realize that our ‘online community’ is where our clients are coming from,’’ Dubnik explains. “We invested heavily in our new Web site and continue to see more and more each day that the bulk of our traffic and business come through the Web site and from the search engines.’’
Nix is focused on adding fresh content to its Web site, including the blog, with an eye toward educating customers and making it easy for them to reach the company to book business.
“We want to keep things light, informative and useful in nature,’’ says Dubnik. “Our belief has always been that an educated consumer is the best customer. In today’s day and age, people go to the Internet for everything and they judge a company based on its Web site.’’
