From time to time, a portable sanitation company gets a shot to explain how it does a tough job in a local newspaper column or on a television news program. We like to share those stories whenever we get a chance.
Blow Brothers Inc., also known as BBI Waste Services, had just that sort of opportunity in the Shop Talk feature in today’s issue of the Portland (Maine) Press-Herald. You can check out the story at: http://www.pressherald.com/business/shoptalk_2010-10-14.html
Blow Bros, started by Frank Blow in 1953, provides portable restroom, septic and solid waste services from its headquarters in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. James Blow, vice president of liquid waste services, is interviewed in the feature and shown in a photo with a load of portable restrooms ready for delivery.
The Shop Talk feature looks like a good platform for local businesses to bring greater public awareness about the products and services they provide. Blow shared a lot of basic information that would interest newspaper readers, and even talked about a unique job providing a restroom trailer for former President George W. Bush in his hometown, Kennebunkport.
Maybe reading the Blow Bros. story will prompt you to call your local newspaper and see if you can offer to participate in this type of story. It would bring your company valuable media exposure and let you promote the industry in a positive way.
