Larry King, host of CNN’s Larry King Live, on Wednesday joined a simmering portable restroom controversy surrounding an upcoming rally on the National Mall in Washington D.C. He gave Rally For Sanity organizer Jon Stewart a Satellite Industries Tufway restroom to use at the event.

A portable sanitation dilemma has been brewing over delivery of restrooms to the Mall for the rally set for Oct. 30. According to news reports, organizers of the Oct. 31 Marine Corps Marathon have ordered 800 restrooms for that event, but won’t have them delivered until after Stewart’s rally, which he has been publicizing on his cable show, The Daily Show. At first, race organizers said they were going to deliver the restrooms earlier, but lock them so Rally For Sanity attendees couldn’t use them.

On Wednesday, Stewart assured King that restrooms will be in place for the rally.

The last time PRO covered restroom service at the National Mall was the inauguration of President Barack Obama. That event was seen as the biggest portable sanitation effort for an event in history, as Virginia-based Don’s Johns coordinated placement of 5,500 units up and down the Mall. United Site Services provided an additional 2,300 units along the Inauguration parade route.
