This is the 10th year that Cintas Corp. has sponsored a contest to identify America’s Best Bathroom. The nominees are typically permanent bathroom facilities at upscale restaurants, museums and other fantastic public venues. But this year, one of the 10 nominees is a restroom trailer from Don’s Johns, based in Chantilly, Va.
PROs can go to the America’s Best Bathroom website, http://www.bestrestroom.com/us/vote.asp, through Sept. 19 to vote for the Don’s Johns DJ5000LX Presidential Luxury Restroom Trailer, built by Jag Mobile Solutions. The site includes several photos of the unit that was set up for President Obama at his Inauguration celebration in January 2009.
According to the nomination information posted at the Cintas website, the trailer features “granite counters and shelves, black marbleized walls, wood panel doors and a hardwood-designed floor. Multi-zone climate-controlled heat and air conditioning also guarantee to keep guests in maximum comfort during their visit. The dual audio system not only plays soothing music inside for the visiting guest, but those waiting outside can keep up with the event on a 37-inch exterior-mounted flat screen television.’’
The competition for Don’s Johns is stiff. The other nominees include flashy bathrooms at The Field Museum in Chicago, The Scottsdale (Ariz.) Center for the Performing Arts, the Joule Poule at the Joule Dallas Hotel, and the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Crystal City, Va.
It’s quite a testament to the advances in restroom trailers and the portable sanitation industry in general that the Don’s Johns unit is a contender for America’s Best Bathroom. Don’s Johns should be proud to have its trailer included in such prestigious company. And all PROs should be, too.
