This press release update was issued by the Portable Sanitation Association International on Tuesday regarding current efforts to restructure the trade group for portable restroom operators:
Last month, members of the Portable Sanitation Association International received a survey from the association asking some very pointed questions about what they want to see from the association. This is one of the early steps in building what association leaders are calling the “new PSAI.”
Jeff Wigley, president of the board of directors and owner of Pit Stop Sanitation Services in Marietta, Ga., and the executive committee have been hard at work along with association staff to upgrade association services and technology. The goal is to make sure that the association is poised to meet the needs of the portable sanitation industry now and into the future.
The survey will provide key information for a strategic planning session in September. Members who responded to the survey will take part in that meeting and an announcement of new and upgraded services will be ready for members at the PSAI Annual Convention and Trade Show in San Diego Calif., Oct. 30-Nov. 3.
This work follows the departure of longtime PSAI Executive Director Bill Carroll in April following the discovery of financial improprieties. PSAI has hired a new director of operations and the staff is helping to manage the strategic planning process. The current executive committee and officers have agreed to stay on in their positions for an additional year to see through the strategic planning process and leadership transition.
