One segment of the public has been the hardest to reach with the message that portable restrooms today are cleaner and more acceptable to use than in days gone by: moms. Evidence is this post last week on the blog site of a mom named Tina who is raising three small children:

Tina talks about her son’s fascination with portable restrooms and says this means he might run a portable sanitation company someday. Though he is showing an interest in restroom units every time he sees one, Tina won’t let him go inside one. “I avoid them at all costs, and do the same for my children,’’ she writes.
This blog post is a valuable reminder that a bad portable sanitation experience can be difficult to overcome, particularly with moms looking out to protect the welfare of their children. PROs must remain vigilant in maintaining effective and consistently good service practices so that more people will be pleasantly surprised with their restroom experiences.
The effort is there with many technicians and tech-friendly restroom designs, deodorants and cleaning products are better than ever. There’s evidence PROs are making headway with consumers every day, impressing them with much-improved facilities. But they apparently still have to make more progress convincing moms.
