It’s Tuesday morning and many non-essential parts of the federal government are closed for business. Is this affecting your portable sanitation business?

Does your company provides restrooms or site services to national parks, the U.S. Forest Service or other branches of the government that are not deemed essential for national security? And if so, have you been asked to pick up your equipment since it’s not being used?

When the U.S. House of Representatives, the Senate and the Obama Administration couldn’t agree on a spending bill by midnight, the wheels went in motion to shut down government offices and agencies, not including the U.S. military or other entities required to ensure national security.

There have been 17 government shutdowns since 1977, the longest triggered by a spending plan veto by President Bill Clinton in 1995. At that time, the government was closed down for 21 days. Most of the time, the shutdowns last a day to three days until a spending plan or continuing resolution, a stopgap solution for federal funding, is approved.

So are you affected by shutdown today? Tell us how.
