When childhood friends Jason Wiggins and country music star Luke Bryan bought a concrete company in Albany, Georgia, in 2015, they didn’t give much thought to the color of the trucks and equipment. Everything was green and they saw no reason to change it. They continued the color theme when they branched out and formed a new company, Express Disposal, offering portable restrooms, roll-off containers, storage containers and residential and commercial trash pickup services.

But the color actually plays a significant role in brand identity, says general manager Clint Eudy, and helps people remember the company. “Whether people are thinking about it or not, when they go out and see their garbage can every day, or see a green portable restroom or roll-off, it sticks in their mind, and that’s what they’re thinking of when they Google our name.”

The cleanliness of the trucks and the appearance of the technicians are also brand identifiers that promote the image Wiggins wants for his company. “He wants all our guys uniformed to make sure our team looks professional from start to finish, as well as our equipment looking top-notch,” Eudy says. “Drivers wash their trucks daily. And when we come on your job site or down your road to pick up garbage, we’re not just in some baggy clothes or a thrown-on T-shirt. We’re in a nice uniform that matches everything.”

Uniforms are rented from Cintas and include high-visibility pants and shirt so it’s also a safety measure for technicians, Eudy says, especially for those working in predawn hours. “These guys don’t need to be out there in the elements with a black jacket on where they can’t be seen.”

Eudy says keeping the trucks clean and having the guys look the part are two important priorities for Wiggins. “It all contributes to that professional appearance, not only doing our part of being the best but looking the best at the same time.”
