Portable sanitation contractors have had a busy summer. I can tell this is true from the conversations I’ve had with overworked PROs as they’ve chased from events to constructions sites. Cell phones were a trailblazing technology, for sure, and they’ve been handy to reach out to contractors in their trucks, at worksites or at home at lunchtime.
Some PROs have reported this is their busiest season in many years. A few have told me they’ve been caught by surprise at the growing demand for units and have limited inventory of solid, presentable restrooms in the yard. I’m wondering what other contractors are going through, and how the uptick in business might impact your equipment decisions when things calm down this winter.
For starters, are more standard restroom units on your shopping list looking ahead for 2014? How about putting another service truck on the road in the coming year? Have calls for an upscale restroom trailer been on the rise, as a number of contractors have told me recently? I’m curious how this improved business climate will shape your plans for the 2014 Pumper & Cleaner Environmental Expo Feb. 24-27 in Indianapolis.
What’s going to make you crack open the checkbook and place an equipment order this off-season? Let’s talk inventory and fleet strategies.
