The spring thaw is done and over with leaving no more signs of winter’s grasp. And now, it’s time for the natural world to get to work. Buds form on trees, dormant plants emerge from their winter hideouts and birds return from their southern vacations.
The human world isn’t so different. Spring comes and with it, we get to work. Ridding the yard of the treasures your dog left behind all winter becomes priority, snowblowers and shovels are put into storage and out comes the lawnmowers and weed whackers, and outdoor public events begin filling up the calendar with everyone looking to capitalize on the warm-weather months.
Besides the hustle and bustle at home, as PROs your business is ramping up this time of year as well. Construction workers are breaking ground and those aforementioned events need what you provide.
Tell me about it
If you’re a regular reader of this magazine, you’re familiar with the On Location column where we highlight how you supply a certain event with their restroom needs. We dive into the specifics, focusing on your plan for setup, servicing during the event and tearing down afterwards.
This could be a massive one-day event requiring hundreds of toilets, or a weeklong festival with restrooms spread out over several blocks or even miles. It may be something you’ve covered for years, or a brand-new job. Whatever the case, I urge you to email me or give me a call when you book these big events over the next year so we can work together to cover your project in this publication.
Nothin’ to it
Here’s how it works. You fill me in on the general details of the job and I assign one of our writers to the story. During a short interview with you, they will ask for some background on your company, specifics of the events and everything you are using to get the job done. How many restrooms and hand-washing stations are you supplying? Any restroom trailers? When does setup happen? How often are you pumping and cleaning? Any unique challenges? The more you want to share, the better.
Besides the interview, we will also send a photographer to meet you at the event for high-quality working shots throughout the day. One of those images may even find its way to the cover of Portable Restroom Operator.
Why should you?
PRO was founded on the principle of helping the industry as a whole using the voice of actual operators. The more we work together, share thoughts and ideas, challenge each other and communicate, the easier it is for this industry to grow and advance.
Your approach and strategy to efficiently service the particular event and the technology you use to tackle these tough jobs might be the solution someone across the country was searching for on a similar event.
Aside from that, it’s nice to show off once in a while and a little free advertising never hurts. These articles are a perfect way to not only give yourself a pat on the back, but publicly recognize and acknowledge your employees for the incredible work they do every day.
So, next time the phone rings and a local event planner is requesting your expertise for an upcoming event — when you hang up with them, give me a call.
Thanks for reading and happy spring!
