Satellite | PolyPortables is making several updates to the Axxis portable restroom that the company introduced four years ago.

“Some of the improvements made to the Axxis include new internal components, a modernized manufacturing process and some updated cosmetic features,” says Joseph Hummel, business development manager for Satellite | PolyPortables.

The Axxis is designed to be durable, customizable and easy to maintain and clean, Hummel explains. Its self-closing hinges operate from an internal stainless steel spring. It is made of outdoor-rated materials and molded polymer construction with a heavy-duty, easy-to-use rotary latch. An ambidextrous door pull provides better grip and handling convenience. Its ergonomic door frame is sonic-welded and uses twin-sheet molded construction for added strength and durability.

The redesigned unit includes a finer panel texture, improving decal adhesion. “With a new style on the side wall and back panels, not only will decals and other advertisements last longer, but cleaning the outside of the restroom is also easier than ever,” Hummel says. “With the new style texture, less dirt will collect on the outside of the unit.” The panel material is also 10% thicker and more durable than the previous model, according to Hummel.

The unit’s universal base was designed with a detachable floor panel, meaning the PRO can choose between a grated base or solid floor. The solid floor panel has molded-in projections that provide more slip-resistance while making it easier to clean compared to a heavily textured floor. “This new base has been engineered to be more rigid and dimensionally consistent,” Hummel adds.

The unit’s redesigned blow-molded waste tank has soft edges; there are no dimples or sharp lines to collect dirt and grime. This means technicians will spend less time cleaning each unit during servicing. The tank capacity remains at 60 gallons. In addition, molded-in vent screens have improved the overall look and function of the unit. “Fewer replacement parts means you spend less on maintenance,” Hummel says. 800-883-1123;
