Brothers Adam and Steve Ghrist of Lang Specialty Trailers knew the event rental business inside and out, having grown up in their parents' company. When a massive contract required more restroom trailers than they could source from other manufacturers, they took a leap of faith.

Armed with years of firsthand knowledge of what breaks, what works and what customers need, they decided to build their own. This episode of PRO Cast details their journey from the service side to becoming manufacturers with the launch of Lang Specialty Trailers.

Overcoming early struggles

The transition wasn't easy. The brothers recount the immense challenges of starting a manufacturing business, from working nights after their day jobs to a disastrous first trade show that left them questioning their decision.

But a clever shift in strategy — targeting first-time buyers in the party rental market rather than competing for brand-loyal customers — allowed them to gain a foothold. It's a powerful lesson in perseverance and finding your niche when breaking into an established industry.
