When Andy Gump Inc. in Southern California took on a recent special event – a charity polo match – they had no idea at first that it would involve recently married royals Prince William and Kate Middleton. The British royalty were on hand to raise money for a foundation supporting disadvantaged youth, with some participants paying $4,000 for a VIP entrance.

Nothing like a little pressure to make sure your portable sanitation equipment is in tiptop shape! Shortly after the event wrapped up, Nancy Gump, Andy Gump vice president, called to let me in on the exciting assignment. The well-planned service went off without a hitch, she said, and she asked if we’d be interested in running a story about the “special’’ special event. We sure would, I told her.

Nancy sent great photos to go along with the story, including snaps taken of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Congratulations go out to the Andy Gump crew for landing the prestigious job and representing the industry in a positive way! You can read the full story in the October issue of PRO, which will be posted here in a few days.

Maybe you’ve served a similar high-profile event this year. If so, and you want to share the details, drop me a line at editor@promonthly.com.
