The portable restroom and hand-wash units used on high-rise construction sites need to be durable, compact and maneuverable. That’s why T.S.F. Company went back to the drawing board to give a new construction-site-friendly design to the Tuff-Jon 90-Gallon Freestanding Sink. The company added a durable lifting bracket to the unit and featured it at the 2015 Water & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment & Transport (WWETT) Show.

“The bracket makes it easy to move the sink unit using a crane or skid-steer to where it’s needed – even to the top of the building,” says Ashley Schenk, sales manager with T.S.F. Company. “It enables work crews to wash their hands, encouraging proper sanitation in areas that aren’t always the easiest to get down from.”

The heavy-duty aluminum lifting bracket has a 1/4-inch wire cable, weighs 30 pounds, and is safety orange for easy job site visibility. According to Schenk, the product fits a need that arose amongst the construction portion of their target market.

“We’ve made a lifting bracket for our restrooms for a while, so some of our construction customers wondered if we could make something that would enable them to lift the portable sink to the top of a high-rise,” says Schenk. “A lot of workers on the site will spend all day dozens of floors up, and with limited means to get down, they need facilities available to them up there.”

The hand-wash station is equipped with two sinks, hands-free with foot-operated pumps; towel dispenser; a 10-cup-capacity soap dispenser; and a trash container. The unit is constructed from easy-to-clean polyethylene, with 45-gallon waste and freshwater capacities, protective skid plate and freshwater drain plug. The unit weighs 85 pounds.

“The sink is great for special events because it is easy to move and clean,” says Schenk. “It has been a popular product for us for a long time, and the lifting bracket just makes it that much more versatile.”

The 2015 WWETT Show was the first time T.S.F. displayed the popular sink with its lifting bracket upgrade, and according to Schenk, the response from the attendees was exactly what she was looking for.

“The feedback that I heard on our sink was overwhelmingly great,” she says. “It’s always our goal to help our customers get the most out of our products, and the bracket helps do just that.”

Schenk says T.S.F. is coming to WWETT 2016 with some new ideas and potential upgrades.

“We always love coming to this show, not only to get our products seen by the industry, but to touch base with all our customers and friends we’ve made over the years,” she says.

“We’ll definitely have something new to show, which always depends on what our customers ask for. Our product lines are driven by what they want.” 800/843-9286; www.tuff-jon.com.
